And now the knob. First remove the small limit screw in the outer ring of the knob.
Apply alcohol on the thread of the knob with the hollow plastic handle of a Q-tip. Do this on both sides and rotate the knob.
Try to catch the alcohol containing the dissolved grease on the inside of the rangefinder with a Q-tip when screwing the knob in to the rangefinder.
Repeat this until the alcohol on the Q-tip isn’t coloured anymore by the old grease. I repeated the process about twenty times. The result is a rangefinder knob that turns when you blow on it (figurative) it’s very, very smooth.
