This was the replacement for the Quickshot. I had just bought MicroSoft Combat Flight Simulator 1 and the Quickshot just wasn’t up to the job. The main problem was that the calibration never seemed to be right and the aircraft would constantly turn even when the joystick was apparently centered.
The Saitek ST50 was my first real introduction to modern joysticks (certainly my first taste of USB joysticks) and served well for a few months until I started playing Crimson Skies in ernest. The lack of buttons on the ST50 forced me to upgrade to the Saitek Cyborg EVO.
